Native Remedies | Hair Loss - 8 Home Remedies

Such things as stress, hormone imbalance, medicines, heredity or thyroid problems can cause you to lose your hair. You may need to go to your doctor to determine the exact cause. Keeping your hair in good condition will go a long way to allowing your hair to grow faster and be healthy. Don't overuse products on your hair, blow dry too often and avoid straightening it. These are just a few of the hair growth remedies you can try.

1. Some women find it difficult to grow their hair fast. A simple solution to this problem is massaging of hair with coconut milk. Even warm mustard oil which has been boiled with henna leaves can be used for this purpose. The blood circulation of the scalp improves due to massaging and thus, facilitates fast growth of hair.

2. Pumpkin seed oil is supposed to affect the DHT level, which is a type of testosterone that stunts hair growth, thereby allowing hair follicles to allow healthy and sustained hair growth. The oil can be obtained at any any natural or herbal remedy co-op or store, and instructions should be followed for dosage.

3. Reduce toxicity also by making an effort not to take in too many by eating clean organically grown vegetables and other foods. Don't take medications you don't really need to, try not to wear chemically filled cosmetics; avoid excessive alcohol intake and other intoxicants.

4. Castor Oil - Taken internally this is said to help with promoting hair growth and preventing hair loss. I remember this from my youth when my Mom made me take. I would not recommend this because of the taste.

5. Young girls with long hair often have the problem of lice in hair. Regular application of neem paste into the scalp before shampooing will help to get rid of this problem.

6. Another Native American remedy that is considered a good way to stop hair loss is Jojoba oil.

It has been used for centuries to promote healthy and growing hair, but the benefits are several-fold.

Jojoba oil will also combat many scalp ailments, such as dandruff, seborrhea or psoriasis, and it is tolerated well by hypoallergenic skin. It is also a moisturizer that resembles the natural scalp oil secretion called sebum, which will improve the overall look and feel of your hair.

7. Saw Palmetto - This is an herbal supplement that has been used by Native Americans for hundreds of years to correct urinary problems. It was studied in Europe and is used by men to help control their enlarged prostate. It is now used to stop hair loss and promote hair growth, especially if you are suffering from alopecia. Saw palmetto is taken orally and can be found in a drug store or you can buy it on the Internet.
